Another memorable species on our visit to the Cleveland National Forest. About a dozen Lawrence's Goldfinches were coming to a puddle in an almost dry river bed. The birds were shy and aloof, rarely perching for long in one spot . The Mountain Quails featured in the previous post were also at this site.
