MA - Otter morning 12/03
Made some rounds in Gill this morning and saw some great birds including Northern Shrike, Canvasback, Winter Wren and my first December record of Savannah Sparrow locally. However, all of these were completely upstaged by a close encounter with three American River Otters on a small drainage channel, so close I could hear them snorting and sniffing the air.....absolutely brilliant!
