This afternoon I checked a few local spots as the temperature dropped quite sharply towards the end of the day. Generally, things were pretty quiet but an immature
Snow Goose on Barton Cove was new. It was with a small group of Canada Geese at dusk and swam upriver towards the Turner's Falls Rod and Gun club. Good numbers of
Hooded Mergansers continued on Barton Cove, as did the
Ring-necked Duck but the Canvasbacks appeared to have moved on.
