A late afternoon visit to the (currently drained) Turner's Falls power canal produced two
Solitary Sandpipers feeding on the mud fairly close to the main entrance road on Migratory Way. Three
Killdeer and a drake
Northern Pintail were also present amongst the more regular fare -
Mallards,
Black Ducks and a couple of
Great Blue Herons. Just back-tracking a little, we also had a calling
Solitary Sandpiper over home in Gill on the morning of September 25th.
