MA - Henslow's still around - 07/01

Swung by Montague on my way out this morning and was pleased to see and hear the Henslow's Sparrow still singing vigorously in the middle of the same field off Meadow Road. Dull, foggy, almost autumnal conditions meant that my struggle for a decent image of this bird goes on!

Henslow's Sparrow. Singing just off Meadow Road, Montague, Franklin Co., MA. July 1st, 2009.

Love the last one of it calling!

I saw it this past Sunday and am glad to see it's still there. Glad for the rain too (I can't believe I just said that), so they won't hay that field anytime soon.

That's a nice bird James. Considering taking a ride up this weekend, if time allows, and if the field is still intact. Hope your summer is going well! Doing any pelagics this year?
