NM - Williamson's Sapsucker - 02/01

Williamson's Sapsucker - male, Doc Long picnic area, Sandia Mountains, Bernalillo Co., NM. Panasonix Lumix FZ7. What a treat for our group - stunning and approchable. We've seen Williamson's Sapsuckers in New Mexico before but not quite like this!

Beautiful bird, beautiful photos! I love woodpeckers, particularly sapsuckers.

I'm a CT birder who birds regularly in Amherst-Hadley when I visit family there. I enjoy your postings, photos, and information. I lived in Amherst for several years and love the whole area.

Thanks very much indeed. I must admit to mssing birding in Amherst/Hadley but the Gill/Turner's Falls area has enough to keep me busy.

Best birding,

James
